The Word is Powerful; Make it Personal

The podcast begins with a reading from 2 Timothy 3, Tim then speaks from Hebrews 4.

The Word of God is supposed to give value to our lives.  The Word of God is sharper than any two edged sword.  The Word of God is living and powerful.

There is a strong movement across this land to carry the Word of God but not believe it. There is no vibrancy or life giving water because the Word of God is not lifted up. There is pressure from other churches to be nice, sweet, sugary, and relevant.  The Word of God is supposed to be these amazing things in our lives.

The Word of God is supposed to be active inside of us. It is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  The Word of God is fit for judging.  Our job is not to be a judger or throw stones.  God gives discernment but discernment is different than judging.

There is no creature hidden from God's sight. Some of us are desperately running and denying our own heart.  We can't run and we can't hide.  God sees us and he sees into the depths of our very being.

Remember that we have a great high priest, Jesus the Son of God who understands us.  The very One who intercedes for us, gets us.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.  Everyone of us need mercy and grace. We need to come boldly to Him and say, I need mercy and grace. That is the essence of Christianity.
