Tim speaks from 2 Chronicles 7:4-22.
We are God's plan for proclamation. We are his chosen proclaimers.
Our moral compass needs to be set on God. We need to use him as the point of reference and him alone. Is the true God your "true north"?
If Jesus is your Lord, he's calling you to be weird and peculiar, you won't fit in. Our world is polluted with leaders making money or power their gods. A lot of us also struggle and want to be our own god. When anyone other than God is our god, we begin to make excuses to justify other lifestyles because we want to go away from the truth.
The only way that we will be confident in using a compass is that we need to do it on our own. At some point we have to put the compass in our hand. We may expect the church to hand feed us, but we have to figure out what the will of God looks like for us.
What is god in our lives, other than God?
