Tim walks in with several bags and other equipment hanging on his back (see pictures below). Teaching from 1 Peter 5:6-8, Tim reminds us that we have a real enemy. Destruction, devastation, and pain are the goals of the enemy. The fact that we are trying to be connected with God the Father puts us on the radar of someone that wants to keep us from tasting and experiencing.
Because of God's mercy and grace, our part is to submit ourselves to God. We should be transformed and changed on a regular basis. In this process of transformation we need to let God be God. How do we deal with worry, stress, anxiety, and fear? Cast our cares upon Him.
A lot of us think about living life and we try to do things without God's help. God is trying to make us new from the inside out. We are so accustomed to carrying our own burdens, fears, and anxieties and it's almost scarier to let God have it and trust Him.
Casting our care is not just throwing it off. It's more relational by transferring it. What is it in your life that you are carrying on your own and not letting God be God? We have to let God be God!
